Q Question: The Appliance Warehouse case study is designed to practice systems analysis and design skills using a life-like scenario. Appliance Warehouse is facing a big business change: create a Service Department as one of their product offerings. They need you, the new systems analyst, to help them. The current mission statement i.e. “We are your one-stop for all of your home appliances and parts”. Well, this topic is good with the current mechanism of our company but when the Service Department is created then this tagline would be less functional. I think the mission statement should be “We are the one-stop where you will find all your appliances along with a customer-centered servicing” Problem/Opportunities statement There are a lot of serious threats especially the cost of equipment and competitors might get ahead of us in the servicing market. The service department is one of the most profitable departments to run on any company. So here are some suggestions (Clements, 2021). The first is to establish a process that must be strictly followed. The second is to follow good billing practices because I believe that profitability can only be increased if the bills of every month are properly focused (Clements, 2021).
